Named for where we run

Each band takes its colours from a South African landscape. Tap the one you'd wear on race day. It carries through to your sign-up and counts as your vote.

Why "Lactic"

Past threshold, it’s on you

Blood lactate stays flat through easy miles, then turns sharply once you cross threshold. That bend is where races are decided. We named the brand after it, and built the band to stay put through it: snug enough for a steady heart-rate reading, soft enough for a long ultra.

Before you ask

When does Drop 01 ship?

We're aiming for January 2027. List members hear first, and nobody pays anything until the drop opens.

Will it fit my watch?

Drop 01 is 22mm, made for Garmin QuickFit 22 watches (Fenix, Epix, Enduro, Forerunner 9xx) and 22mm quick-release watches such as Forerunner 2xx, COROS and Polar. Apple Watch and Suunto fits come next if enough of you ask, which is why we ask for your watch above.

Why braided and not silicone?

Silicone traps sweat and slips once it's wet. A braided loop breathes, adjusts without holes and holds the sensor in place on long efforts.

How does delivery work?

Courier or PAXI anywhere in South Africa. Cape Town gets the first drop, with Joburg straight after.

Who's behind Lactic?

Lactic is run by a South African runner who wanted a band with as much personality as his race shoes, and couldn't find one made here.
